Very good senior friend of mine Ardhsher Cowasjee, he told me that "during a meeting with General Zia in Karachi, I had addressed him 'Sala', military secretary of Zia came forward to grab and hit me,but Illahi Bux Soomro had saved my skin" he had laughed in his style. #Cowasjee

"Now, old at 85, tired, and disillusioned with a country that just cannot pull itself together in any way and get on with life in this day and age, I have decided to call it a day." #Cowasjee's last words for a column. 9 years since he passed away

Like his hero Jinnah, #Cowasjee set the bar high, perhaps a little too high for most of his countrymen.

A relentless activist, philanthropist, and columnist, Ardeshir Cowasjee was born on 13 April 1926 in Karachi. Cowasjee’s articulation of ‘Jinnah’s Pakistan’ inspired many in the country, and will continue to do so in the future. Today marks his 95th Birth Anniversary. #cowasjee

I am having the same feeling I had when Cowasjee died couple of years ago. A rare creed who stand their ground, and call a spade a spade! A mighty oak has fallen! May Allah bless his soul!

I should get my lazy ass up and start doing my regular cardio workouts. Note to myself: it will be great 4 my health if I learn that things only get worse in this Pureland. SANITY is alien here. As #Cowasjee would say “We are surrounded by chariyas.. ” #AsiaBibiCase #Pakistan
