🔍 Regulatory Clarity: In Thailand, I saw how proactive and transparent regulations create a smoother path for fundraising and compliance—giving startups the confidence to move fast and innovate boldly. India’s evolving, but uncertain and slow.😐
👩💻 Developer Talent Pool:
Thailand’s devs are groomed straight out of college, attending hackathons and understanding the world of Web3, Crypto and AI by building real world applications. India’s VAST developer talent pool is more focused on AI than crypto with most devs still thinking crypto is a scam.
💰 Funding Ecosystem:
Thai startups tap have access to local VCs, government incentives and HUGE CRYPTO WHALES from nearby #Singapore and #Hong Kong. I feel that India has access to global VCs who are more interested in grooming talent/projects that can be exported abroad and not really grown/made in India.
🌐 Language:
From what I witnessed, devs and builders in Thailand struggle with English. Indian devs even those from Tier 2 cities manage very well with English and this helps them collaborate with global participants easily.

Experiment Two: The journey from Bangkok to Hong Kong via Koh Phangan.
Between the two megacities, we made a stop on #Kohphangan. Back in the spring of 2025, our team sent five Altruists here to help the local islanders (whom we met after DevCon 7 #DevCon2024) establish local air quality monitoring. However, the main purpose of our stop on Koh Phangan is to demonstrate how small communities can acquire Altruists to take part in environmental matters on their own — whether it’s a cottage village, a neighborhood, or, as in today’s case, an entire island!
Stay tuned for updates on the second experiment. Ahead of us is a preparation day during which we will drive around the island, install and configure five Altruist Urban devices in just one day, and then carry out the actual air quality experiment — for which we have prepared several interesting tasks for the team!

We are going to explore a very interesting talk that took place at #Devcon2024 so that you can feel as if you were there too. In this talk Oren Katz @Orenkatz1 presented some key considerations, and mechanisms needed to build a future proof L2.
Blockchain has not reached its full potential yet due to various reasons, such as the delay in building the core infrastructure that will aid in its scaling, cost, and user experience. As a result of the missing infrastructure, there have only been a few killer apps in the crypto market, but the future looks promising. Today, the crypto ecosystem has seen huge advancements, such as the implementation of the Layer 2 scaling roadmap and core infrastructures being built. L1 chains like #Ethereum and #Bitcoin are decentralized with a strong network and lots of apps and users on the L2 chains try to solve these issues by scaling cost and speed by keeping the trust on the L1.
According to the first principle of the blockchain trilemma, a blockchain cannot achieve scalability, security, and decentralization without compromising one. Some solutions have been battle-tested in order to solve these concerns, a seemingly impossible task.
Other solutions involve cryptographic algorithms, a popular solution that has been used in ZK blockchains is validity proofs. Validity proofs are cryptographic mechanisms used to ensure the correctness and validity of transactions on L2s. Validity proofs compute a proof for every batch of transactions that will be submitted to the base layer. This proof is then verified by an L1 smart contract, known as the verifier. Validity proofs solve the blockchain trilemma as they do not need to re-execute the transactions unlike in the core Ethereum protocol. More so, verifying a proof uses less computation power than re-executing transactions.
