We first estimated the effect of early introduction at different ages for the observed results from #EATstudy and #LEAPstudy (randomised {LEAP] and screen failures [PAS]). Impact decreased with increasing age at introduction. 7/12

If the adherence in #EATStudy had been as good as in #LEAPStudy, peanut allergy would have reduced from 2.5% to 0.29%. EAT recruited from the general population - it demonstrates that most infants with peanut allergy are found in the very large low risk group. 6/12

#EAACI2020 George Du Toit talking about preventing peanut allergy. Best time to introduce peanut into the infant diet is 4 to 6 months of life. Infants with any eczema are at increased risk, they should start around 4 months of age. #LEAPstudy #EATstudy @GoAllergy

#EAACI2020: Michael Perkin on over the counter prevention weaning products: very variable doses of food proteins, have other component, often contain peanut flour which was not used in #LEAPstudy #EATstudy and are very expensive compared to normal food. @PaedAllergy
