@lady_logical @rigobear72 It costs about $100 in supplies for an appropriately credentialed and practically trained teacher to teach 95% of children to read by the end of first grade. #EdPrepMatters

Pencils, paper, and my travel bag filled with other teaching materials and I'm off to teach a 2nd grader how to read!

@marcportermagee Imagine what NAEP scores would be without support from private tutoring…
The crisis in the classroom is ineffective instruction and the root of that crisis is inadequate government-run educator preparation programs. #EdPrepMatters
We know that #EdPrepMatters most, but there are many reasons to believe that teachers unions/associations prevented (and still prevent) government-run educator preparation programs (EPPs) from ensuring that all candidates have the required knowledge and practical training in evidence-based pedagogy, so that they can teach all students how to read proficiently in Tier I.
@KerryGr76867180 @1in5advocacy Hey how about teaching teachers how to teach those kids in poverty how to read the books you are giving them?
Kids will never learn to read in government-run schools until Congress requires public-funded educator preparation programs (EPPs) to include credentialing and practical training in the Science of Learning and Reading for all educators. #EdPrepMatters
Insane. How will our kids ever learn to read if their teachers can't?
This is what happens when parents’ rights and student outcomes are completely disregarded.

Thumbs up to a good semester ahead! ☺️👍CAPS Edu II associates are out in the field working all over the Cedar Valley with students, staff & community members! We can’t wait to share more deets soon! ☀️ #everystudenteveryday #futureteacher #edprepmatters #professionbasedlearning

@AACTE Join us with @ASU and EdPrepLab as we investigate how educator prep institutes are key to empowering teachers for innovation, and how high school learning can leverage this change.

Actually, it’s a targeted statement of truth.
Ask any of the 210,000+ teachers in the “Science of Reading-What I Should Have Learned in College” Facebook group. #EdPrepMatters 👇

@1in5advocacy A rather Broad Brush ‼️

It wouldn’t be immensely difficult to accommodate children with disabilities if all districts complied with federal regulations when selecting curriculum and all teachers were credentialed in Structured Literacy. #FAPEdenied

Parents and educators discuss the immense difficulty of accommodating children with disabilities—who have a constitutional right to a “free appropriate public education”—in New York City’s public-school system. https://t.co/HjSydxlQHX
Congratulations EduGator grads! It was an honor getting to celebrate current and former students tonight and an even greater honor getting to be a part of their @UF_COE journey. #GatorGrads #edprepmatters

“Research shows that most children need systematic, sound-it-out instruction—known as phonics—as well as other direct support, like building vocabulary+expanding students’ knowledge of the world.”
But MOST public schools DON’T teach this way.🤯

America’s K-12 reading crisis has (finally) made it to the #frontpage of the NYT. 😌
In years past, when the NYT had a (mostly) untarnished reputation and journalistic integrity, it was a "must read" publication and this would have been an extraordinary accomplishment — one to celebrate, one to retire the pro bono literacy advocacy hat on — but this is NOT years past, and there is SO MUCH WORK to be done before each child is guaranteed their civil rights to free appropriate public/public-funded education (FAPE) and grade level literacy proficiency. #FAPEdenied
I hope and pray that the NYT is turning over a new leaf, to genuinely and authentically hold all politicians in all levels of government and the teachers unions, curriculum writers / publishers, et al profiting in the Education Establishment™️, accountable for our nation’s literacy crisis.
Thank you for publishing this story, @nytimes, this type of reporting could help you regain the public’s trust and the title as one of America’s premier publications — **if** you place our children and their rights to literacy FIRST. #LiteracyIsEquity

@Kress_Sandy @rhardin29556971 @DrTeresaSanders @Moms4FAPE @TexasTribune @texasinsider @EvaMarieAyala @RYHTexas @ColleenDippel @KendallGPace @AACTE I believe we all need to hold #AACTE’s (governance board) 'feet to the fire' on #EdPrep reform. #EdPrepMatters

I have reasons to believe @AACTE, an organization that many parents &/or parent organizations rarely (if ever) mention, is one of the worst enablers of our broken government-run, taxpayer-funded Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) system. #EdPrepReform

Did you try (appropriately) evaluating them for a learning disorder (e.g., #Dyslexia, #Dysgraphia)? #ChildFind
Did you try suing your teaching college for their failure to provide lectures on the body of evidence commonly referred to as the #ScienceOfReading? #EdPrepMatters
In under two minutes, this TikTok creator perfectly shows the relationship between admin and teacher when students are failing. #teacherproblems
Tell me why it feels like Tier I failures in the public education system are intentional and, perhaps, endorsed by most politicians, policymakers, bureaucrats, educrats, et al.
