Very pleased to welcome partners of @OxfaminUganda for a bi-annual Partners Forum. As we reflect on the 'how' of our work, we also recognize how to #FlipTheScriptUG while saying #EnoughIsEnough.
#FlipTheScriptUG is also meant to address the types of violence & discriminatory social norms experienced by marginalized women & girls like those with disabilities that leave them vulnerable to violence & less likely to be able to speak up to be believed & access services.🛑🛑🛑
We need to shift social norms-attitudes,beliefs that justify violence & gender inequality against women and girls. The “Enough”#FlipTheScriptUG campaign’s aim to tackle on these social norms to create shared beliefs in turn change expectations around behavior.
Many perpetrators believe that violence towards women & girls is normal.They feel they can commit violence without disapproval. It’s one of the most widespread violations of human rights with long-term devastating effects. It’s time to say ‘enough is enough’. #FlipTheScriptUg

Research suggests that social norms have contributed to the generalisation of abuse against women and girls, the #FlipTheScriptUg, enough is enough wants us to rethink the small talks, the bad norms that have put our sisters, mothers, daughters under torture for generations.
There have been gaps in combating violence against girls and women, these include ineffective laws like the Domestic Violence Act 2010, the Anti Trafficking in Persons Act, and the Prohibition of Female Genital Mutilation Act among others. #FlipTheScriptUg
