The “Fed is Best” postpartum slogan means well, but is terrible advice for mothers. It’s so stupid. Formula feeding your baby is nowhere near the same thing as breastfeeding.
Take Postpartum Depression for example. Exclusive breastfeeding has been linked to
53% lower risk in PPD. That’s quite a lot, given all you have to do is breastfeed your baby.
Shoving formula into your baby’s bottle for convenience sake and denying them the boob, may cost you your own sanity.
Breastfeeding is more than just their meal, or for bonding. It’s there as a protection mechanism against the postpartum hormonal mess. You don’t have this with formula.
