Ghana-born Lieutenant Colonel Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah is an articulate gentleman. He’s a good family man who has served the Country with flying colours 💂🏿🇬🇧 He is a war hero who served with the British army in Afghanistan, helped prevent a school bombing in Helmand and became an equerry to Queen Elizabeth II from August 2017 to December 2020 🪖 The equerry is considered one of the most important and senior positions in the royal household, requiring his attendance at official engagements at Buckingham Palace and other Royal residences. The position is reserved for an officer of one of the armed services and lasts for three years 🫡 I see Prince Harry’s wife’s bots are out today 🙄 It was reported by Scobie in Endgame that Meghan Markle was offered his help but was offended because he is black. Prince Harry’s wife spent 36 years choosing to be white-passing and was most comfortable socialising in white spaces with her rich white soho house friends 🤔 She hated the media highlighting her black heritage and it’s been Meghan who has conscious biases and then had the audacity to project them onto the Royal Family and has tried to weaponise race for the last five years. In the words of Catherine Tate’s Nan “What a fuc#ing liberty” 🤦🏽 Colonel Nana became known to the public in 2011 when he acted as escort commander at the Royal wedding of Prince William and Princess Catherine and was seen alongside the 1902 State Landau in the carriage procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace 🤵🏼👰🏻 He has also been pictured with Prince William during Trooping the colour💂🏿 He began his career working as a Blues and Royals squadron leader at The Household Cavalry Mounted Regimen. He was also stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan as a principal staff officer for the Afghanistan National Army Training Group. Nana said it was “an honour to serve HMQE” and that he formed a close bond with the late Queen during the period when he was her equerry 🥺 During Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral processions in both London and Windsor, Twumasi-Ankrah was among the group of pallbearers that included 12 former Equerries. This group, adhering to a tradition established during Queen Victoria's reign, marched alongside the late Queen's coffin as part of their ceremonial role 🥺 He now works for the UK Ministry of Defence.
