AW people have predicted this for a long time: the government using the media to spread fear-mongering and hatred against dogs. And here, listen to what an ex-NDTV reporter has to say!
With high-end media channels like @ndtv taking a special interest in all the dog-bite videos, an important question arises.
How do they get CCTV videos from remote villages and towns where even a rape case or a murder case has to be extremely brutal for the media to talk about it. Otherwise, it would not even make the statistics. But when it comes to dog-bite cases, they are keenly searched for and added to all forms of the channel’s media.
How? Why?
The answer is simple: orders from above.
According to official data from India’s National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), government crime reports record an average of about 81 to 86 registered rape cases across the country each day.
Now imagine all our media channels running all these cases! What impression would this give us about women’s safety and Indian men’s character? Although we have this high number, we have many decent men too, and therefore not every woman is a rape victim.
But seeing and hearing about more than 80 rape cases a day would shift this mindset about Indian men. That is exactly what the government and media do with stray dogs.
These media especially @ndtv are searching for dog videos like flies searching for shit, just to lick the shoes of those giving the orders and keep them happy!
Dog haters who refuse to think critically or acknowledge the reality are a major part of the problem.
