La decisione fa seguito a quelle che le autorità polacche hanno descritto come 19 violazioni dello spazio aereo nazionale avvenute nella notte tra il 9 e il 10 settembre, incidenti che hanno reso necessario un monitoraggio più rigoroso lungo il fianco orientale della NATO.
