Precarious State of Press Freedom under Dr. Yunus-Led Interim Govt. Two developments from yesterday demonstrate the precarious state of #press and #media freedom prevailing in #Bangladesh under Dr. #Yunus' Interim Govt. First, the Information Ministry has cancelled the press accreditations cards of 30 more journalists. This takes the total no. of #journalists whose accreditations have been cancelled to 50. These 50 journos, including senior reporters and top executives of TV news, have simply been targeted for their political leanings. That is their only crime. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has rightly expressed their alarm and concern over this development. Two developments from yesterday demonstrate the precarious state of #press and #media freedom prevailing in #Bangladesh under Dr. #Yunus' Interim Govt.
