#NGDPTargeting is the only available next step that allows for deflation during economic expansions, reducing the severity of the #AustrianBusinessCycles.
No free banker sees any central bank arrangement as ideal, but if we are stuck with a central bank then we propose that it do a less bad job by allowing prices to fall with rising productivity, and prices to rise during supply shocks, etc.
@ThomasDownes8 Today, we are much more sophisticated than that... We have central banks to offer the illusion of plunder without victims.
And even the otherwise-free-marketers are on board with it!
