The Platinum Study out on @JAMAOnc Assessed cisplatin-related hearing loss (CRHL) in cisplatin-treated #TesticularCancer survivors (TCS) using comprehensive audiologic assessments over a median follow-up of 5.8 years. The study highlights the importance: ✅Regular audiologic👂assessments and managing hypercholesterolemia in cisplatin-treated cancer survivors Results showed that: 78% of participants experienced audiometrically defined hearing loss, with self-reported hearing loss correlating with significantly worse hearing outcomes. Poorer speech-recognition in noise (WIN) performance was linked to hypercholesterolemia, lower education levels, and severity of hearing loss.
