@AmesTaylor_DA @VictoriaCrandon Yes, those services work really well alongside #properdebtadvice. But! Definitely to be funded externally; we don't want them funded by @MoneyPensionsUK (as per MaPS consultation proposal) as its going to mean cuts to community debt advice, which is scarce enough already.

Now what will @MoneyPensionsUK do about funding #ProperDebtAdvice so that the IVA sharks can't feed off the vulnerable? Debt advisers know that only decent funding of free advice will change this
@hubofnurse Well we certainly do this at CA Cornwall. But its now not part of the trad debt advice service so its up to other advisers. I have fond memories of taking the form and the client to the park in summer to fill out. Would love it if we still did that as its #properdebtadvice

The procurement of debt advice *should* have been limited to not-for-profits but gov said no
This fits with a government consistently putting profits before common sense and driving the not-for-profits to compete with the private sector

I said I don't need the DRO hubs, we have 7 intermediaries in Cornwall! I'll fight to keep our DROs in-house cos it's #properdebtadvice
