I've been talking about transit being important to deliver housing, especially affordable housing for half a decade now, I am pleased to see transit funding to deliver housing as the #1 priority in federal advocacy. Success in Brampton has shown builder enthusiasm for the #QuBRT

Team #Brampton is working hard in Calgary this weekend at the @FCM_online annual conference with municipal leaders from across #Canada and federal government representatives. I have been advocating for: 1. Faster permanent public transit funding to address housing affordability. This will allow new housing to built with transit and enhance our goal of building transit orientated new housing. 2. Bail reform to end the loop hole for property crime. @PeelPolice’s Project 24k and Project Odyssey showed the revolving door nature of our justice system. We are seeing this across Canada. We must do better. 3. Supporting the re-election of Councillor @RoweSantos on the FCM Board. She has been serving the FCM Board since 2020 and seeking re-election for a fifth term. She is an additional strong voice for Brampton on a national level. Thank you to @iHarkiratSingh @paulvicente and @RoweSantos for helping raise Brampton’s perspective at this conference.

@kemosite @yyzMYA @LisaStokes66 @JustinTrudeau @BramptonTransit Rapid Transit along Queen is essential for #brampton to redevelop Queen into an urban area; there just isn't capacity for increasing the number of cars on Queen, especially while making it more livable. If we want more residential, commercial, & office there, we need the #QuBRT.

@yyzMYA @LisaStokes66 @kemosite @JustinTrudeau Accelerating the #QuBRT is the best way forward for #Brampton if we want a large single project, especially if we use electric buses (which could save us a bundle on operating costs).
