Twitter family, I was on TikTok Live earlier but couldnโt speak as freely as I wanted, so let me say this here.
The argument that @JaiiFrais has made a bigger impact on Jamaica than Ian Boyne is one I simply cannot understand. (HE IS SAYING THIS BTW)
No disrespect to @JaiiFrais , but Ian Boyneโs body of work is in a different historical context. Journalism from 1975, 30 years of Profile, 1,300+ interviews, Issues and Answers, Religious Hardtalk, decades of writing, numerous journalism awards, the Order of Distinction, and serving as Chief State Liaison across the administrations of Andrew Holness, Bruce Golding and Portia Simpson Miller, as well as the Office of the Governor-General.
That is not just a media career. That is a national legacy.
People can debate contemporary influence all they want, but comparing individual achievements should begin with the scale, longevity and documented record of the work.
Ian Boyneโs contribution to Jamaican journalism and public life deserves to be understood on its own terms. Some legacies are simply too substantial to reduce to a social-media comparison.
Just curious, but, where are the oblivious idiot hosts of #MTV's #Ridiculousness going to film now that Paramount is moving out of the Homeless Hellhole of Southern California?
