This tweet makes no sense at all. We need #HS2 for HUGE growth in #RailCapacity that is needed, swapping first class carriage(s) for standard class may makes a *small* gain, emphasis on SMALL. #RailFareReform is also needed, but CAPACITY, CAPACITY, CAPACITY needed.
I don't but your point misses the main point. Train fares should not be more expensive than air fares and we can increase rail capacity (so no HS2) by abolishing 1st class and making the whole train very comfortable and safe
@WYSIW Current journey times are not bad, but better is better; why didn't we stay with dial-up internet or indeed the horse and canal boat? Times move forward, staying at 125mph doesn't make sense in long term. #HS2 is about #RailCapacity even more than speed and journey times.

2. Need #ModalShift away from #AirTravel and #RoadTransport (passenger and freight) where possible.
3. 2 cannot happen without 1 being resolved. Solution is to add #RailCapacity = #HS2.
