Photos emerged of debris from a new Russian aerial munition today - although described as a now-familiar glide bomb kit for a FAB-250 500lb-class bomb it includes a fuel tank and turbojet engine, making it more of a "cruise missile kit." This is effectively equivalent to the cancelled JSOW-ER, which was supposed to have a range of over 500km. A similar level of performance would enable Russian tactical aviation to strike anywhere in Ukraine at low cost compared to bomber-delivered missile attacks while retaining a high level of capability to penetrate air defenses.
