TERI, @APAGIndia, and the @iitdelhi, officially launched their collaborative report, "Towards Cleaner Freight in Delhi: Assessing Interstate Truck Emissions and Mitigation Strategies," today at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Delivering the welcome remarks, @DrVibhaDhawan, Director General, TERI, set a powerful tone for the event by reminding the audience of the ultimate goal of sustainable logistics. “When you go overseas, you feel that development has taken place here at home, but their skies are still blue. As a country, we must look into what proportion of pollution is coming from automobiles and especially trucks. It becomes extremely important that every step in the supply chain is as green as possible, because if our trucks are not clean, our entire effort toward sustainability will fail,” she stated.
Building on this urgency, the launch featured addresses from Mohit Beotra (A-PAG), Shri Mahmood Ahmed (@MORTHIndia), and Dr @virinderCC (@CAQM_Official), alongside critical opening perspectives from the Clean Air Fund and Coefficient Giving, delivered by Karthik Ram and Tanushree Ganguly, respectively.
Moving from macro-policy to ground-level science, the event featured an engaging Fireside Chat that evaluated the report's new data against past baselines and was followed by a technical deep-dive by Dr Gazala Habib, IIT Delhi, on ‘Inside real-world tailpipe measurement: highlights from the field’. In the end there was an expert panel discussion moderated by Dr Anju Goel, Associate Director, TERI, effectively charting a clearer, collaborative path forward for Delhi's air quality.

TERI launched India’s Nuclear Energy Vision: Strategic Pathways for SMR Deployment—a roadmap for the next evolution of India’s nuclear energy landscape. It moves beyond high-level policy goals to address the practical ecosystem requirements necessary for large-scale implementation and long-term sustainability.
@DrVibhaDhawan, DG, TERI, gave the inaugural address at the launch. “Nuclear energy stands as one of India’s strongest examples of technological self-reliance developed through decades of domestic innovation. Today, by expanding our engagement through policy research and stakeholder consultations, TERI is helping pave the institutional pathways for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and private participation to accelerate our transition to a low-carbon, energy-secure economy,” she stated.
Mr K Ramanathan, Distinguished Fellow Emeritus, TERI, added, “To achieve true decarbonization, we must prioritize energy sources that are both clean and firm. The global resurgence of nuclear energy highlights its essential role in complementing renewables and strengthening grid stability in an increasingly volatile world.”
The chief guest of the launch was Mr PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, PMO. “As our economy expands, nuclear energy emerges as a vital pillar of our long-term sovereignty, providing the reliable, carbon-free baseload power essential for stabilizing our grid and enhancing our strategic autonomy,’ he shared.
The session also featured special remarks by Mr Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairman, Central Electricity Authority (@CEA_India), and Dr Garima Sharma, Head – Safety, Security & Safeguards, @DAEIndia. Mr @Alekhya_Datta, Director, TERI, delivered the vote of thanks.

TERI is pleased to share its latest report, “Responsible Agri-PV Baseline Assessment – Renkube Plant, Telangana.” As India balances rapid energy expansion with agricultural sustainability, agrivoltaics (Agri-PV) is emerging as a practical solution. This research-led pilot in Telangana demonstrates how solar energy generation and agriculture can coexist without compromising productivity.
Key Insights from the Study
✅ Energy Performance: Higher energy yield than conventional solar due to improved design and spacing
✅ Agriculture Performance: Crop yields maintained at ~97.8%, with leafy vegetables benefiting from reduced heat stress
