Addressed the 23rd Convocation Ceremony of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, today.
On this occasion, 11 new courses were launched, which will significantly strengthen patient care and contribute greatly to the welfare of the society. NBEMS has also become a partner institution under One Nation One Subscription scheme, which will strengthen research and innovation in medical field.

The #inaugural session of the witnessed #policymakers, #experts, practitioners, #medical professionals, and #media personnel to discuss various aspects of #airpollution and the need for a #sustained action.
𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐞, 𝐈𝐀𝐒, 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, @CAQM_Official, set the context by speaking about recent developments, directions, advisories, and implementation efforts being undertaken at the 𝐂𝐀𝐐𝐌 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥. He focused on the 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 recently approved & issued during the 28𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐀𝐐𝐌:
- Only electric L5 category three-wheelers to be registered in Delhi from January 1, 2027, followed by Gurugram, Faridabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Sonipat from January 1, 2028, and across the rest of NCR from January 1, 2029
- From October 1, 2026, fuel will not be provided to vehicles without valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates across NCR
- Directions issued to Punjab, Haryana, & Uttar Pradesh to implement action plans towards complete elimination of paddy stubble burning during the 2026 harvest season
This was followed by a keynote address by Shri Rajesh Verma, IAS (Retd), Chairperson, CAQM, who reflected on the progress made so far, ongoing challenges, and the road ahead for improving air quality as he stated: “Air pollution in the NCR is a complex, multi-sectoral challenge. CAQM is committed to fostering a transparent, collaborative ecosystem where regulatory frameworks are strengthened by public understanding & scientific consensus.”
The panel discussion, moderated by our Founder & Trustee and Director – @Nagarro, @SarikaPanda, featured Dr. Virinder Sharma, Member (Technical), CAQM; 𝐃𝐫 S D Attri, Member (Technical), CAQM; 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢 @TarunPithode, Member Secretary, CAQM; and Nidhi Madan, Partner (Climate Policy), Energiva Ventures.
The conversation also highlighted how 𝐍𝐨𝐧-𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 (NMT) plays an important role in addressing air pollution; emphasizing how #mobility, #walkability, & safer #public spaces also need to become part of long-term pollution mitigation strategies.
