Traffic jams cause more CO2 and exhaust gas from vehicles, so why are they so popular with parties who claim to be green? We need green policies that clear the jams and let traffic flow.
Not just this but also:
1. #FuelDuty - Lower rate incentivises driving over #ModalShift or to #ReduceDriving.
2. #RIS2 allowing more #RoadCapacity, again incentivising driving via reduced journey times.
3. Cut in #AirPassengerDuty, esp on #DomesticFlights.
The scam of 'net zero by 2050' demonstrated again:
1) Bristol airport gets the go ahead for expansion.
2) Govt approves development of Abigail Oil field in the N.Sea.
Just turn up the 'Negative emission' dial & all is rosy - i.e. we pass our mitigation burden on to our children.
@FreshairIan I totally agree with safety upgrades such as on #A1 north of #Morpeth but the #RIS2 programme is about increasing #RoadCapacity and safety is a secondary benefit; much of the safety issues could be tackled much faster and more cheaply than dualling Morpeth-#Ellingham. #NoNewRoads
