ππ 650 KG OF AMBARI. DEAFENING DRUMS.
BURSTING FIRECRACKERS.
ONE INNOCENT LIFE FORCED TO ENDURE IT ALL.
Imagine the pain, fear and exhaustion of an elephant carrying an enormous load while surrounded by deafening noise and panicked crowds. π
π ELEPHANTS ARE NOT MACHINES. RELIGION MUST NEVER BE AN EXCUSE FOR CRUELTY.
π True devotion means compassion, not exploitation.
π« Stop using elephants in religious processions.
βοΈ Enforce animal-welfare laws and protect these sentient beings.
India, our traditions should inspire kindness, not suffering. Let elephants live with dignity and freedom.
Stop abusing elephants and animals for your humans entertainment.
To all Leaders, Be humane first.
Or don't expect votes.

It is a great sin to capture an π & keep captive for one's own selfish ends
Doing this is not only mental & physical torture but is also a cause of destruction of the universe

Srirangam, Tamil Nadu.
Is this what we call taking care of an elephant?
Being kept in a temple is NOT proof of good welfare.
Being drenched by rainwater pouring off a roof is NOT evidence of proper care.
An elephant is a sentient being, not a temple accessory.
Tradition is no excuse to compromise animal welfare.
An elephant deserves more than survival. It deserves freedom and dignity.

No matter how much you ignore, abuse of π in temples is a brutal reality. Elephants don't love to obey humans, they are starved, battered & their spirit is completely broken to make them obey. Their silence is a trauma response. Only one line: God is watching!

This is baby Durga.
At Manas in Assam, she was lovingly called β#Bhountiβ β meaning sister.
Today, this 5-year-old is thousands of kilometres away, with both legs chained and a hole in her left ear.
When Durga was loaded onto the truck, her mother reportedly screamed in distress as her baby was taken away on a journey of nearly 3,000 km.
@himantabiswa @CMOTamilnadu - pls STOP this & Please save your Bhounti (Sister) - Please #SaveDurga.

Tamil Nadu ministers Aadhav Arjuna and S. Ramesh celebrated the naming of a captive elephant at Annamalaiyar Temple as Namashivaya.
A NEW NAME. SAME DENIAL OF FREEDOM.
What exactly are we celebrating? An elephantβs captivity dressed up as devotion?
He cannot choose where he lives, how he lives, or whether he wants this life. His needs and freedom do not disappear because humans call him sacred.
RELIGION IS NO EXCUSE FOR CAPTIVITY.
WORSHIP IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR FREEDOM.
Ministers, if you truly respect elephants, start by respecting their right to live free.

@supriyasahuias And somewhere in Assam, more elephants are being prepared, captured from the wild, microchips being inserted so that they can be "gifted" (sold in crores) to Tamil Nadu temples just like Durga, Shiva, Hiralal, Rupsing and Bijuli. Assam is complicit in trading elephants!!!
A reminder that Durga, Shiva, Hiralal, Rupsing and Bijuli continue to be in isolated captivity away from their moms, habitats and herds. Why? Because rich people wanted to trade and earn crores & Madras HC CJ was compromised.
