🆘🆘 LEGEND, 2 YO, MALE– IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 9/8/2025, with the surrender reason stated as person health - allergies. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 10/7/25 ➡️ NEW HOPE RESCUE PARTNER ONLY ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️🆘🆘 7th Chance on Emergency Placement List – ON BORROWED TIME – SHELTER AT CAPACITY- NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT/HELP LEGEND- HIGHEST EU/SILENT KILL RISK –🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 28 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG -TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ LEGEND IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: Legends are human (or cat, as the case may be) so it's progress over perfection as they maintain and we admire their legendary status. Legend was brought to us without a whole lot of information and he's told us repeatedly that the Care Center isn't the place for him to shine as he's meant to. When I introduced myself to Legend, he told me as much before returning to his den. He's the type of cat who prefers a pet with your eyes, not with your hands approach as he gets used to his new normal and, of course, being a legend.
