A Tale of Two Souls: #TadiosTantu vs. #SebhatNega
Tadios Tantu is an elderly statesman: a veritable warrior for truth whose greatest weapon is his pen. A historian and writer, his only “crime” is speaking out about the #AmharaGenocide. For this, he languishes in prison, denied medical care, his voice silenced by those who fear the truth.
Sebhat Nega, on the other hand, is the godfather of #TPLF: a man with more blood on his hands than most. As one of the chief architects of the Nov. 3, 2020, massacre, he helped orchestrate the slaughter of thousands of Ethiopian soldiers, plunging the country into one of the bloodiest conflicts of the century.
And yet, what does #AbiyAhmed do? He frees Sebhat, sending him off to the United States, where he and his cronies enjoy their looted blood money; while Tadios Tantu, a man of principle, rots in a cell.
