All of us, as well as all animals and plants, are increasingly contaminated, irreversibly and insidiously, by tiny plastic particles: #microplastics and #nanoplastics. Doing nothing to slow this contamination is suicidal. #SimpleAndLucid

When breathing, drinking or eating becomes disabling or even fatal, what do we do? #SimpleAndLucid
Abstract : “#Microplastics are present in all environments and have even been detected in humans. As a result, more and more worldwide studies are focusing on the contamination of food and beverages by microplastics. To date, none of these studies has examined the contamination levels in beverages sold in France. The current study was set up to address this gap and investigate the level of microplastic contamination in water, soft drinks, beer and wine. This study does not aim to provide an exhaustive overview of all the drinks sold in France. However, efforts were made to study the impact of different containers: plastic, glass, brick, can, cubitainer, on this contamination. Heterogeneous results were obtained with mean contamination levels of 2.9 ± 0.7 MPs/L in waters, 31.4 ± 16 MPs/L in colas, 28.5 ± 13.1 MPs/L in teas, 45.2 ± 21.4 MPs/L in lemonades, 82.9 ± 13.9 MPs/L in beers and 8.2 ± 3.3 MPs/L in wines. It was observed that the most contaminated containers were glass bottles. Caps were suspected to be the main source of contamination, as the majority of particles isolated in beverages were identical to the color of caps and shared the composition of the outer paint.”

Everyone knows about plastic pollution in the ocean, but few people know about soil pollution, where a VERY, VERY large amount of plastic is found. Much more than in the ocean. #SimpleAndLucid
”Tiny plastic particles also present a threat to creatures on land and may have damaging effects similar or even more problematic than in our oceans. (…) the impact of microplastics in soils, sediments and the freshwaters could have a long-term negative effect on terrestrial ecosystems throughout the world.”

@xy1_mx @MandemBrady @RMythyc @lightpulxe @FearedBuck Very crazy, I agree. And our politicians are too shy very really slow down this irreversible contamination of our organs - #PlasticsPandemic. We need to spread the word for making people aware. #SimpleAndLucid

@SarcasticGuruX Noooo, this not the “new” normal we have to accept. This contamination of our body increases exponentially (see here👇 the example of human brains). That means faster and faster. Accept it could be suicidal!!! #SimpleAndLucid https://t.co/dJKx0PKcJi
When you consider the extent to which a single splinter can cause deep, irreversible damage to the body's outer tissues, such as the skin, you'd rather not have millions of tiny splinters inside you. But it's too late. Some of them have already bio-accumulated inside us. #SimpleAndLucid
The question now is what to do to avoid more extensive, even fatal, contamination of the liver, kidneys, brain, etc.
Spread the word to help build a strong and realistic #PlasticsTreaty to combat the #PlasticsPandemic ✊

@jeanneyacoubou This is why the polluter-pays principle must be replaced by the polluter-cleans one. Oil industry must clean the CO2 they produce before continuing to extract or sell more petrol.

If this latest news still has you doubting that we're dealing with a global #PlasticsPandemic, there's nothing more I can do for you 😅! #SimpleAndLucid
Let's fight together for a clear-sighted global #PlasticsTreaty.
Source of knowledge: Montano et al., 2025: First evidence of microplastics in human ovarian follicular fluid: An emerging threat to female fertility. Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety 291.
Abstract of the study of Montano et al., 2025:
Several studies have assessed the presence of microplastics (MPs) in human biological fluids and tissues, highlighting potential health risks associated with oxidative stress, inflammation, immune dysfunction, neurotoxicity and reprotoxicity.
(…) In this study, 18 women were selected to assess the presence of microplastics in their follicular fluid. Plastic particles <10 µm were measured using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) coupled to an EDX (X-ray energy dispersive) detector. Microplastics (size <10 µm) were detected in 14 of the 18 follicular fluid samples, with an average concentration of 2191 particles/mL. (…) Given that several studies on animal models have demonstrated the negative effects of microplastics on ovarian function, the present study, which verified for the first time the presence of microplastics in human follicular fluid, is of great importance to the scientific community in terms of raising awareness of the impact that these increasingly widespread emerging contaminants have on reproductive function and human health.

Is it normal for polluting, ecocidal countries to be among the negotiators for a #PlasticsTreaty against plastic pollution #PlasticsPandemic?
In a trial, the accused are never part of the jury tasked with rendering the fairest verdict, are they?

> "Logic of obstruction" (...) the oil and plastic producing countries [which] have formed a coalition for plastics sustainability around the Gulf countries, including Iran, Russia, Brazil, and India. Supported by petrochemical industry lobbies (...), these countries are reluctant to accept any obligation to reduce plastic production and favor an approach based on recycling, which currently stands at below 10% worldwide. The United States and China, the two largest consumers of plastic, are not officially part of this coalition but are on the same page.
> "Countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia have very specific economic and political interests that make these negotiations very difficult."
> "Since the beginning of the discussions, Iran and Russia have been very active in their obstructionist approach to slow down the negotiations."
> "Beyond the opposition of Russia and Iran more generally, and since the beginning of the process, we have also witnessed a rise in the power of the BRICS+ and their desire to overhaul the post-war multilateral system, which is making these negotiations more difficult."
> "A small group of states (Iran, Russia, India, etc.) – notably oil producers – led by Saudi Arabia and supported by China, are opposed to the treaty: they question the mandate given by the United Nations, which covers the entire life cycle of plastics, and are campaigning for the treaty to be limited to the issue of waste management and recycling."
> "(…) Saudi Arabia and its allies are expected to add options in the coming hours to weaken this article, which, according to civil society, is "a minimum, albeit imperfect, measure to regulate plastic production."
> "(…) China, Russia, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the gas and oil-producing countries for which plastic represents a significant resource, want nothing to do with it. Supported by the petrochemical industry, these countries consider the pollution problem to be limited to waste treatment and favor an approach based on recycling."

#PlasticsTreaty vs #PlasticsPandemic #SimpleAndLucid

@samdknowlton I have been warning about this imminent risk for several months. It is truly urgent that this scientific knowledge be widely circulated. Everyone spread the message. So that one day it reaches the ears of our political leaders. #SimpleAndLucid
@chris_ssali11 @endelstamberg @rhosking252 @GeraldKutney @judithcallagha9 @violin4all @NBPTROCKS @alexatweme @UCJglobal @LindaEvelyn_N And the worst part of the #PlasticsPandemic pollution is the invisible one: #microplastics and #nanoplastics. #SimpleAndLucid
We urgently need to put an end to plastic pollution, but it is virtually impossible to stop it completely. The only thing we can do is slow it down as quickly as possible. Here's why and how in a 10-minute video:

https://t.co/aXDKPVjOuy
It's just common sense, isn't it? - And while you're wondering whether this pollution is serious or not, the #PlasticsPandemic continues to worsen, insidiously and out of control. It's about time we took action, all of us together, courageously but radically.
✊ For a realistic #PlasticsTreaty, not a poker game about the lives of future generations on Earth.
