Both Delamare and McBane seem to be very different people. However, they are both driven by greed and it’s almost funny to see them manipulate each other. MB has the $ so he takes advantage of D’s social status at the club while D plays and cheats MB for his $. #TMOT17

McBane is like Gretchen from Mean Girls since he tries too hard to fit in the ‘white racist gentlemen’ group. Also, like Gretchen, McBane tried to convince Tom to get him a membership to the club, but it didn’t work out like how Gretchen tried to make ‘fetch’ a thing #TMOT17
I feel like the story is branching out in many different directions. There is Tom’s gambling, Ellis’s love for Clara, Dode’s misfortune, Josh Green’s mission, the white supremacist campaign, and Mrs. Ochiltree’s encounter with Julia. How is it all going to tie together?

McBane is a member of the club however he lacks the qualities of most members. He fails to realize he does not fit the standards of birth, wealth, or breeding. It is funny to see how clueless he is about his status since all he cares about is being superior to blacks.#TMOT17

Again, African Americans are being compared to and treated like animals with quotes like “Sandy, —that’s a good darky!” showing how Tom treats Sandy like an animal rather than a human being. #TMOT17
