Here's my submission for this year's #UCSAS2020 poster competition! I design a metric called the Point Trend Value that measures the rate at which a Jr. player's production improves/declines over a season and use it to analyze potential bias in NHL draft trends.

Catching up on #UCSAS2020, couple posters I liked: Paul Ibrahim's "Comparing Free-Throw Forms Among NBA Players Through 3D Similarity Measures" used tracking data to compare shooting forms using diff methods, then cluster players. Reminds me of @inpredict! https://t.co/0W45dze0cc

Dylan McGee asked if we will exclude 2020 in future because of its unusual fan circumstances. We will certainly inform the model of the season's uniqueness when we run and hopefully gain more information about the effect of home crowds. #UCSAS2020
