Keri, a member of the public, is asking why parking lanes can't be shifted to make protected lanes. DOT says "basically any protected lanes would involve reduced traffic flow or reduced parking" but that this still just a first pass to get a functional network in place.
At the very end, we were excited to hear that @NYCSpeakerCoJo was bringing the #VisionZeroDesignStandard to a vote this month, a huge step forward for the next chapter of #VisionZero. That's what leadership looks like- here's to a hoping for a brighter future!
This is the type of project the #VisionZeroDesignStandard will address: #BikeNYC lanes etc would become the norm rather than an after-the-fact request from the community that @NYC_DOT can keep postponing @ydanis @CMReynoso34 @CoreyinNYC @TransAlt
