With so many DSA (Democrat Socialists) running in competitive districts voters need to know what their choices are. Oregon desperately needs a return to balance and common sense legislation not more extremism. #VoteRedInstead
@ChristineDrazan @fivekiddos2005 @morrison4oregon
DSA's latest platform calls for:
• Abolishing the U.S. Senate
• Eliminating "carceral" institutions
• Defunding the Department of Defense
• Amnesty for undocumented immigrants
• Concentrating power in Congress
The question isn't whether DSA supports these ideas.
The question is whether DSA-backed candidates in Oregon do.
Voters deserve a straight answer.
DSA new marching orders.

It’s no secret that America’s education system leaves much to be desired. All corners of the political spectrum agree this is a problem, but no one seems to have a solution.
Here in Oregon, the majority party did away with graduation standards, removed requirements for opting out of State testing, and took away local control. Did these fantastical policies at least disguise Oregon’s lackluster education statistics?
Nope.

Decline is a choice. It doesn't have to be this way. #voteredinstead How many Oregonians—metro residents and others—avoid Portland's central business district? This study may explain why. It's not a vibrant, welcoming, safe, nor beautiful city any more.

OR currently ranks 4th in the nation in % of income spent on sheltering our families. Why? Outdated land use policies, soaring cost of construction, over-regulation, CAT tax, CPP, ever increasing taxes, impossibly high SDCs, imported timber instead of sustainable Oregon harvest.

The steady decline must be stopped. #voteredinstead

This is a program that should never have gotten off the ground. But our current governor thinks the pain it inflicts on Oregonians and Oregon businesses is worth it to save the planet.
Let’s fix the real problem:

New Governor
New control of the legislature.
Yes! End the climate change grift! https://t.co/fJEdayxHfT
@ORDems @Real_EdDiehl @ChristineDrazan @Dudley4Oregon And ALL the Oregon Democrats have is trying to make everything about Trump rather than considering why their own failures in Oregon have lost them so much support. #VoteRedInstead ♥️🗳️
Until the people realize those in control of the levers of government are the problem, the problem will continue.
Leadership that understands reality, instead of an ideology that puts government before the people, is the only way this changes.

This is our first part expose concerning the antitrust of Portland City and Multnomah county.
This represents 8 billion of POTENTIAL AND IMMINENT LOSS to the city and county.
Every blue dot is a brick building that can't be insured(without paying 3 to 10 time premium). Can't be financed or refinanced. Can't be sold at fair market value(10 cents on the dollar seems to be the going rate). And in many cases — can't even be auctioned.
There are 1,369 of them.
They are scattered across every neighborhood you care about — Parkrose, Old Town, Sandy Boulevard, Division, Alberta, Mississippi, St. Johns, Central Eastside, Montavilla, Lents. The restaurants you eat at. The apartments your neighbors live in. The small businesses that anchor your block. All unreinforced masonry. All under a mandatory seismic retrofit order from the City of Portland. Almost none of them have a funded path to compliance.
Retrofit costs run $800,000 to $8,000,000 per building. The buildings are often worth less than the cost of fixing them. No conventional lender will finance a loan where construction cost exceeds collateral value. So the owners are trapped. They can't fix the building. They can't sell the building. They can't insure the building. And when they fall behind on property taxes — because of course they do — Multnomah County forecloses.
And here's where it gets ugly.
THE COUNTY ISN'T AUCTIONING THESE BUILDINGS.
Oregon law requires it. ORS Chapter 275 lays out the foreclosure auction process. The county is supposed to auction tax-foreclosed properties and recover what it can. But what happens when you auction a building that nobody can insure, nobody can finance, and nobody knows how to retrofit?
Nobody bids.
And if nobody bids, the county is stuck holding a building it can't maintain, can't sell, and can't put back on the tax rolls. The assessed value collapses. The tax revenue disappears. The building rots. The county spent more administering the foreclosure than it will ever recover.
So they stopped auctioning them.
The county's own budget documents show foreclosure auction revenue collapsing year over year. Their Tax Title program page confirms the last public sale was May 2024. The next one? "Anticipated Spring 2026." We're in Spring 2026 right now. No properties have been posted. No auction has been announced. And the last time they did sell, it was bare land — strips and small parcels sold to adjacent property owners. Not buildings. Not the 1,369 buildings on this map.
They are hiding the problem.
Instead of auctioning buildings that nobody will buy, the county quietly absorbs the loss. Your tax dollars subsidize the gap between what these buildings owe and what the county can't recover.
The county just settled a $3.5 million class action lawsuit for keeping surplus proceeds from the foreclosure sales it DID conduct — money that legally belonged to the original property owners. They were foreclosing on people, selling their buildings, and pocketing the difference."

The supermajority in the Oregon legislature has led to worse and worse outcomes for the state. It's time to #voteredinstead for the sake of Oregon businesses and Oregon taxpayers.
Anyone who is paying attention knows that Oregon's governor is the head of Oregon schools and she has a supermajority in the Oregon legislature. Yet somehow she wants the tragic failure in our schools to be blamed on Republicans?
#voteredinstead
Let’s be clear: Republicans do NOT run Oregon schools.
Democrats have had near-total control of this state for decades—funding, policy, leadership.
Now Tina Kotek wants to blame Republicans for education failures? 🤯

This Thursday, Apr. 2, Portland city council will hold its first public hearing on two new taxes to fund its always-out-of-money transportation bureau.
In a weird twist, water/sewer ratepayers will be paying nearly all of the new taxes.

When arrogant leaders disenfranchise voters and ignore the people they serve, Oregonians rise up.

Oregon business owners: Isn't it time to #voteredinstead? Join the Republican party and help us choose new leadership that recognizes the importance of businesses, large and small, to the healthy future of Oregon and Oregonians.
🚨 Senate Democrats Advance Bill That Would Raise Taxes by $311 Million, Breaking Their Promise on Affordability 🚨
Members of the business community, Republican legislators, and many others have warned that a bill being pushed this session, Senate Bill 1507, would increase the tax burden on local employers at a time when Oregon simply cannot afford to become even 1% less business-friendly. Today, Senate Democrats passed the bill despite bipartisan opposition.
Senator @ChristineDrazan (R-Canby) said:
"I want a state where families are stable and parents can provide for their children. The way we achieve that is not by raising taxes on the people who create jobs. It’s by ensuring that the men and women willing to risk everything to start and grow a business have the opportunity to hire more Oregonians—not a reason to leave for another state.
"Businesses testified clearly that this proposal will make Oregon less competitive. They are the ones making decisions about where to expand or relocate, and they will respond to what we do here. In the last year, Oregon has lost thousands of jobs, bankruptcies have hit a record high, and employers are telling us they feel targeted rather than supported.
"At my business roundtable last week, small business owners said they feel attacked, taken for granted, and treated like adversaries instead of partners. That is deeply concerning. We should not be picking winners and losers. We should be creating an environment where families, workers, and businesses can succeed together. Oregon can’t afford another self-inflicted wound."
A Republican-backed alternative, which failed on party lines, would have:
- Kept Oregon’s tax code connected to federal law, streamlining compliance and keeping $311 million in taxpayers’ pockets.
- Preserved interest deductions for car loans, bonus depreciation on machinery and equipment purchases, and deductions for certain small business investments.
- Expanded the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for over 200,000 low-to-moderate income households.
- Protected Oregon businesses from new financial burdens at a time when the state’s corporate tax structure ranks second worst in the country and business bankruptcies hit a 12-year high.
Senator @MikeMcLaneS (R-Powell Butte), who carried the alternative proposal on the Senate floor, said:
"Senate Bill 1507 disconnects Oregon from key parts of the federal tax code that help businesses invest, expand, and hire more workers. Oregon lost 25,000 jobs and business bankruptcies hit a 12-year high—their highest point since the Great Recession. Whether we like it or not, we are competing with Idaho, Arizona, Texas, and other states for jobs and investment, and Oregon must do better.
"The Governor recently laid out a roadmap focused on accelerating economic growth, creating more living-wage jobs, and setting up Oregon businesses to thrive. Senate Bill 1507 conflicts with those stated goals. Is this really about prosperity, or was her roadmap just an election-year gimmick? We’ll see if the Governor signs a bill that undermines her own stated goals."
Pictured below is the vote count on Senate Bill 1507. Those who voted 'Aye' should be held accountable for voting to make Oregon even worse off.
