Unlike cav1, cav3 has 6(!) #palmitoylation sites and is also #glutathiolated to control its protein interactions. The extra palmitoylation sites mean a #caveolin oligomer has 66 palmitates per oligomer, which makes for a pretty crazy amount of fatty acid in a small space
