Older adults were well-represented in #EMPERORP (age>80y in ~1K) & efficacy appeared preserved MRA also attractive & may minimize K+ suppl but await more solid data Efficacy wasn't modified w S/V in #PARAGON, but hypotension was ↑ w age https://t.co/63CxpY49G2

This BP response to #SGLT2i appears qualitatively distinct from #CKD (where BP ↓ is more substantial) or even #HFpEF (where risk of HoTN ↑ in #EMPERORP).

Some have dismissed the ~30% ↓ HF events in #EMPERORP & #FIGARODKD as these account for only ~10-20% of total hosp An endpoint's relevance relies not only on its frequency, but also on its impact on recovery, health status, & mortality HF hospitalization surely meets this bar!
