A THIRD of the #UK lives within 20mins of the #ECML according to @InvestEastCoast, so with population of ~68m, thats ~22.7m people in reach of an ECML station.
Surely that means that #HS2 and esp #HS2E was justified?

In other words, 3 out of 4 people can cycle to a train station within 20 minutes. This is sustainable mobility at its best!

HS2E to East Midlands Parkway then link to Sheffield and Nottingham. Better for the East Midlands but would not improve connectivity between East/West Midlands and Leeds/North East. 3/x.
Good @grantshapps, but can't you also reverse the #IRP, build #HS2 in full as originally planned (#HS2E) and #NPR in full too, alongside #Electrification and the rest we need for #CleanGreenTransport?
