@bristol_citizen We don't like to get involved in politics, but this does seem like the #MetroBust approach. If it doesn't work, throw more money at it while ignoring realistic solutions.
At least with a space craft you have some idea as to what it is going to do and which direction it should be pointed towards. It's not rocket science. Unlike, seemingly, #MetroBust.

#metrobust 'not much' for £250m and damage to over 20 green spaces
You don't get much for £250 million these days. Just a couple of roads, a pointless guided bit, and an aspiration to run a bus service to the most deprived parts of Bristol in a few years. But a quicker ride to the airport unless you live in Bed minster.
Goes to "within line of sight" of the biggest station in Bristol, according to #MetroBust. Although it also stops "within line of sight" of the Moon, too.
Now, wasn't #MetroBust supposed to be about connecting the outer extremes of Bristol to the wealthy centre?

@paulmizen1 @iainpdooley The fact that buses no longer serve Asda Whitchurch or the health centre seems sure to increase car journeys. Who devises these routes?
@bristol_citizen We wondered if #MetroBust would be powered by energy from Bristol Energy, but apparently there aren't enough unicorn droppings to make it viable.
Windmills are, in our opinion after much study, a sort of energy #MetroBust. Expensive, with lots of spin doctoring, but no proper solution, and taking away money from better alternatives.
@paulmizen1 @bristol_citizen Gas is the elephant in the room for many greenies - it's often cleaner than other fuels, is in good supply+we're quite dependent on it. How to replace it? Dunno, but windmills and solar panels won't be enough by 2030. That's only 11-odd years away...
#metrobust promoters claimed that M3 would take 35mins, instead it is 1 hr 35 mins according to the operator. Are those responsible incompetent, devious or victims of circumstance? Whatever, it is a white elephant
Is #MetroBust a success? Yes, says Comical Ali at the council,. But James Freeman at @FirstBSA says "“ it is supposed to take 35 minutes to go from Lyde Green to the city centre on the M3 Metrobus, but it takes an hour and 35 minutes instead." Honesty! Who saw that coming?

@gingergeezer @iainpdooley @DavidRMock Did somebody say "#MetroBust ineptitude"? That was, still is, the worst thing in years. Ferguson should have scrapped it - the £11 m cost of doing so would have been a massive saving, but we blame others for it. Marv supported it in 2012, now doesn't. Gone in 2020 - good riddance

@iainpdooley We followed the progress of the red-trousered one's attempts to do something about #MetroBust closely, and have some sympathy. In hindsight, scrapping it would have saved more than he thought it would cost (£11m), and would not have had the fallout that binning the Arenal has had
#MetroBust service M3 has been badly affected today by road closures. So has all other traffic, and the causes are beyond First's control. But it does rather show that behind the glitz and razamataz, it's just a bus. Even if it has cost £250 million so far.

It seems that someone else doesn't think #MetroBust is helping. Why students would choose brand new fast buses with free wi-fi over 15 year old ones that can't use the M32 bridge is beyond us.
