Urg! We start this in 7th grade with ‘cross multiply then divide” which is not 7th grade content if you show the why! What about an amazing tape diagram or double number line to solve proportions? Model, model #modelmath for every student. #iteachmath

Both my kids’ high school teachers are teaching “cross-multiplication “, and of course not showing why you can do it. 🙈

It amazes me to watch students take what they know and solve word problems. They are truly engaged through the whole mini lesson. #modelmath master it, is their favorite.
