Routing cycle lanes through the pavement at bus stops has to stop. Floating bus stops are not safe or accessible for blind people. Access has to be from the kerbside, direct from the pavement without having to cross a cycle lane first. This is at Elephant & Castle in London.
Another one who thinks drivers are exempt from following the highway code. Nevermind ignoring the hierarchy of road users, as outlined in the highway code. #MyWayCode
The cyclist should have stayed behind the driver to comply with Rule 74. If the driver failed to indicate they were turning left, the cyclist should have been prepared to slow down or stop to comply with Rule 76: "Watch out for drivers intending to turn across your path." The Highway Code is a contradictory and inconsistent set of rules. It either needs to be reduced to a basic set of optional guidelines or improved with a strict and clear framework. This middle ground, which relies on a mix of inconsistent signaling, signage, and subjective interpretation, is unsettling and impractical.
I'm going to suggest that this cyclist was travelling in excess of the posted speed limit, racing to the scene of his own crash in order to play a victim card for SM.

This junction is very badly designed expecting drivers to look over their shoulder or stop and check for cyclists but this drivers behaviour is totally unacceptable.
