The cost of meds in Canada will increase as a consequence of America’s tariffs. While larger chain pharmacies may be able to keep up with rising costs from med distributors, I wonder if the smaller independent pharmacies can. Their patients need their meds too. #Pharm4420
US tariffs coming into place will certainly jeopardize our access to medication supply in Canada, forcing our patients to either pay more for their medications, switch their medications altogether, or be left untreated. #pharm4420
With tariffs coming tomorrow, it's important to think of the significant impact it could have on availability and affordability of critical medications for our most vulnerable patients. #Pharm4420
Taxing pharmaceuticals will not only negatively impact Canada but the U.S. too! Both countries rely on so pharmaceutical ingredients from a global supply chain. Any disruption to the supply chain will impact drug prices for all... #Pharm4420
There is uncertainly regarding how the looming tariffs will affect prescription drugs in Canada. We rely on other countries such as the US for medications, and the tariffs have the potential to create problems for those who already struggle with cost of medication #PHARM4420

@IanColb Say it louder for the people in the back!! 🔊getting access to timely care is such a challenge. It's encouraging to see pharmacists being used to their full potential, fantastic news #PHARM4420
A pharmacist was recently added to Dr. Todd Young’s virtual care Medicuro team! As we know, pharmacists have an abundance of knowledge regarding certain minor ailments, and can aid in the process of getting patients the care they need when time is of the essence. #PHARM4420
#PHARM4420 Medicuro provides access to physicians for those who do not have family doctors. These physicians will only prescribe three months with no refills and may not prescribe controlled substances. This can be inconvenient for patients who have limited healthcare access.
Medicuro launched in NL is a way for patients to reach physicians for new prescriptions, refills, injuries, skin conditions and many more! It’s a convenient way for patients to reach the help they need especially if they don’t have a family doctor!#PHARM4420
@JennaBradl88811 This is definitely a step in the right direction! I think medications for other chronic illnesses like hypertension is next! #PHARM4420
The new Pharmacare program launching in Canada will make it easier for many Canadians to have better access to contraceptives and diabetes medications. This will decrease costs for long term complications of diabetes or unwanted pregnancy for our health care system. #pharm4420
@pharmstudem What do you think is next in the plan? I think heart disease is inevitable, but it would be interesting to see to what extent. #PHARM4420
Why is the list of services not covered under an MCP card longer than the list of services that are covered? Who decides what services are medically necessary? Why are medications and vaccines first on the list of services not covered by MCP? #PHARM4420

In a world with finite funding, we need to be mindful of where government funding is being directed. But surely, having patients pick and choose what medications they can afford each month is not the best we can do! #Pharm4420
@keithbailey72 #PHARM4420 we need a healthcare reform which will provide people with the care they need while being more cost effective than how the US’s system works. https://t.co/6KfQN2I2Yz I think if Canada followed a system like the Sweden’s, I think it would bring costs ⬇️ & bring care ⬆️
@keithbailey72 #PHARM4420 in an ideal world, no one should pay for healthcare at any level. The issue is this isn’t a perfect world and finding that balance is very difficult. The biggest issue with our system is that the main solution they use is throw money and hope it fixes itself.
Determining some treatments as medically unnecessary fails to consider the tremendously increased risk the “unnecessary” conditions can cause for much more serious ones. If drug coverage were offered for these conditions, we would save healthcare money long term. #Pharm4420
It would be interesting to see how much the government could save if they paid for preventative medications such as , antihypertensives, contraception. This would reduce the burden on our healthcare system in the long run by preventing need for further treatment later #PHARM4420
@MegMcGrath25 @MtimmonsTimmons So many Canadians need to take medication daily for high cholesterol, contraception, hypertension, etc. So are these not considered healthcare? #PHARM4420
