Fangen Sie in Bayern an: #SaveIsar2.

You can follow me @adamblazowski for more info on our energy transition in Central and Eastern Europe.
Also, I will be in Berlin on April 15th, to join local climate activists opposing closure of nuclear power plants in Germany.

Nawet jeśli spadną w kwietniu 2023, to oszczędzą 1,7 mln tCO2.

@Dr_Keefer @MadiHilly @energybants @i_sodope_ @nukebarbarian @ParisOrtizWines @dylanjmoon @MyrtoTripathi @jessefreeston This is an amazing win for the climate.
I estimate about 18 mln tons of CO2 NOT emitted due to the work of a few climate heroes and heroines.
Ps. If you're saving German nukes with me, this is our recruitment poster ;) ;) ⬇️

Koszt prac które mają wydłużyć pracy elektrowni jądrowej Isar2 to równowartość 10 dni jej normalnej produkcji.
Niesamowite rzeczy dzieją się w Niemczech, jesteśmy świadkami historii.

GERMANY: NUCLEAR MOMENTUM
Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder: nuclear should stay for 5 more yrs, not coal.
Cost to extend Isar II (1410MW) in Bavaria? ~ €100m
Today's elec price: €333
Cost / MWh for Isar: €20
Would pay for itself in 10 days.

One example of why in EU we just can't have nice, big, low carbon things.
It will take a loong time, and lots of Russian natural gas to overcome this stubborness.
We need all clean technologies.
Climate is priority.

One of the reasons Merkel cant do anything is Atomausstieg. She know she really really needs cheap gas from Nord Stream 2 to replace nuclear and coal.

It is quite amazing that people who literarly lost their homes due to coal still believe that antinuclear movement in 2002 was right to convince everybody that coal needs to be burned further and low carbon nuclear needs to go away first.

@dajsel That's a shocking graphic, but it hides that France uses a huge amount of nuclear power, which brings other problems such as the unsolved problem of nuclear waste and the risk of catastrophes. 100% renewable energy is possible and necessary!
@DerClue @jm_desp @DWestlen @Elstatistik For now we should rather focus to save existing plant from closure.

Happy to see some German media picking up the topic of our visit to Philippsburg. This is just the beggining!
We all need to #saveIsar2
It is a common goal.

Fossil fuel subsidies? In Germany? In 3rd decade of XXI century? Without nuclear power the coal exit becomes hostage to gas lobby that wants support to build even more new gas plants.
This is the price of antinuclear ideology. #saveIsar2

@DerClue @Gazoski @fota4climate @Gen_Atomic @Nuklearia @iaeaorg @FORATOM_nuclear @jakubwiech @UrszulaKuczysk1 @W_Nuclear_News @agata_brzezinsk @BrachaRutkowska Your condescending tone, calling Poland a "dirty country" and name- calling really show lack of hard arguments.
Seems that the only thing that is ultimatly renewable is a German "Death of Reason". And you will see that #saveIsar2 will be an #Energiewende "Stalingrad" in 2022.
And Isar2 nuclear power plant will be the Stalingrad of #Energiewende in 2022.
It produces 12 TWh of low carbon, clean electricity, at time when Germany fails its 2020 CO2 reduction targets.
This insanity must end. #saveIsar2
IT IS OFFICIAL: New coal replaces low carbon nuclear in Germany!
Datteln 4 and @elonmusk's 680 MW new gas plant for Berlin's #Gigafactory4 will partly replace 10 TWh/y of Philippsburg NPP.

Następnego dnia brakującą moc zastąpiły węgiel i gaz.
