This cycle is an important step toward our PoU / PoH system.
We are not just asking miners for more face images.
We are asking for harder, more useful biometric pressure data:
- combined face variations
- screen replay attempts and more passive liveness challenges
- deepfake / AI-detection pressure
C4 also moves Face Online KAV live.
That means miners now get faster in-cycle feedback on face-variation quality, while final truth still comes from YANEZ post-validation, reputation, duplication checks, task adherence, and anti-cheat review.
The task is getting harder, too.
Instead of simple one-edit variations, miners now generate more combined variations:
- indoor background and outdoor background
- pose + lighting
- lighting + expression
- pose + expression
- screen replay
This matters because real PoU/PoH cannot depend on a single clear-face capture under ideal conditions.
We need systems that understand identity across pose, lighting, expression, background, replay conditions, and synthetic pressure.
That is how we build:

Our Post-validation reputation system helped us verify miner workflows end-to-end and made it easier to separate real generation from copy/paste, loops, shortcuts, or exploit behavior.
Now in C3 Execution, miners will start seeing live estimated scores on the dashboard as submissions are processed.
These are not final scores.
Final truth still comes from post-validation.
But live scoring gives miners a much better signal:

✅ Is the output strong or weak?
✅ Is my workflow producing useful data?

What's coming in Cycle 2?
We're shifting our focus to **Presentation Attack Detection (PAD)** — one of the hardest unsolved problems in face identity verification.
Here's the challenge: How do you tell if you're looking at a real person, or a photo of their face held up to a camera? A screen replay? A printed photo? A 3D mask?
This isn't just an academic exercise. **PAD is essential for Proof of Human Uniqueness** — the foundation of trustworthy enrollment and recognition in identity systems. If you can't detect presentation attacks, you can't trust your identity verification.
Miners will be competing on the generation of the new face variation and detection of:**
- 🖥️ Screen replay (phones, tablets, monitors)
- 🖨️ Print replay (coming)
- 🎭 More PAI species (coming)
This is adversarial competition at its core — generators trying to fool detectors, detectors trying to catch everything. The best detection models will emerge from this pressure.
Built on Zero-Trust principles: No single party controls the truth. Validators referee, but Yanez settles — with post-validation acting as the court of record. Retroactive penalties, deterministic committee assignment, and anti-collusion mechanisms ensure no cabal can game the system. Fairness and transparency aren't afterthoughts — they're baked into the architecture.

There is obviously one major collaboration going on as indicated. Others are in the works in the form of leveraging the commodities offered by Bittensor. There is lot of infrastructure that can and will be leveraged.
As for the miners, the new incentive mechanism based on reputation and true value to us, is giving miners, those that truly invested in solving our problems, great dividends on this cycle. We´ll soon publish a paper to better explain to the community how this incentive mechanism works.
