Reaz Hossain Roky, joint general secretary of #Bangladesh #StudentLeagueâs Tejgaon college unit, was not convicted in any case. Yet just because of his affiliation with the student body of #AwamiLeague, unruly activists of @bdbnp78's student front demanded ransom to spare him from physical attacks. As the student leader failed to provide ransom, the activists of #BNP became furious and tortured him. Later the injured #BSL leader was brought to the police. Instead of arresting the attackers, police registered false case against him and jailed him, giving attackers free rein.

But the authorities did not send the seriously wounded youth to the hospital immediately rather quizzed the injured for hours along with the killers. According to eye witness, a shop for agricultural products belonged to the family of #SumanRoy, a former leader of #Bangladesh #StudentLeague, has been attacked, looted and vandalized by @bdbnp78 leaders in #Barhatta upazila in #Netrokona on #August5.
Father of Sumon is also involved in politics of #AwamiLeague. But now a false case has been filed implicating victims of #violence including Sumon and his father, a clear marker of weaponisition of law to protect the looters and attackers.
