#TD9 is looking a lot better through diurnal minimum than yesterday, with much more convection and curved banding. I'm thinking this gradually strengthens to a 40-45 kt tropical storm, but it could strengthen quicker if it develops a compact core.

Now that it's forecast to turn away from the U.S., a decent analog for #TD9 might be the 2019 iteration of Humberto, which intensified due to baroclinic interactions as it recurved. Some models are hinting at that for this system as well. Maybe even an outside chance we go 4/4 on hurricanes/majors which would be pretty wild.

This is PRECISELY why folks can't take just one forecast and use it as gospel over a period of time.
The models for #TD9 were super tricky, and 48 hours ago we were thinking about a landfall in the Carolinas as a possibility.
Now it's going to take a literal right turn!
