Satoshi is brilliant in inventing bitcoin, but bitcoinโs #tokenonomics is not as well-aligned as #Ethereumโs.
1. Bitcoin mining doesnโt require miners to hold bitcoin over the long term. They can just mine and sell their BTC. So the miners are more like foreign #mercenaries, not the citizens who fight for their own country.
2. The Bitcoin network is cutting its #security #spending by half every 4 years. It hopes that transaction fees would increase enough to offset the defence spending cut to entice miners to stay. So far it has worked, but it may or may not work well over the long term b/c tx volume is volatile.
3. If total demand for BTC stays the same, but BTC tx volume increases (i.e., higher velocity in circulation), it would benefit only the #miners due to more tx fees, but not BTC #hodlers bc total demand stays the same.
On #Ethereum, more txs benefit both the #validators (via more tx fees) and the ETH hodlers (via more ETH burning). Better alignment of interests.
