Abiy Ahmed Ali, accused of genocide, persists in conducting drone attacks on civilian populations in Tigray. Before hours, at approximately 10:00 PM local time in Tigray, a drone strike was conducted on a high school and a civilian neighborhood in the town of Gijet, situated in Southeastern Tigray. Civilian sources and eyewitnesses have reported that there was no military activity in the vicinity of the attack. Concurrently, the United States government and the European Union remain concentrated on the Pretoria cessation of hostilities agreement, which Abiy Ahmed Ali has effectively nullified, while they overlook the regime's ongoing ground and aerial assaults on civilians throughout Tigray.

#ALERT: More Aerial Terror and Attacks on Mekelle
--------
Abiy Ahmed’s drones have struck residential areas of Mekelle, terrorizing civilians and injuring innocents.
Meanwhile, the AU, IGAD, and the broader international community watch in deafening silence and apparent indifference. How many more attacks on civilians will it take before this silence is broken?
The Ethiopian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who has been accused of genocide and destabilization in the Red Sea-Horn of Africa region, persists in its aggressive military activities in Tigray, which may provoke another severe conflict.
On the morning of August 20, 2026, at 11 AM local time, a drone strike conducted by the Ethiopian government targeted civilians, including children and women, in Mekelle, the national capital of Tigray. Eyewitnesses and local media reports, which provide visual evidence, indicate that civilians, including children and women, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at Ayder Specialized Hospital in Mekelle.

Hadas—a survivor living an #IDP camp in #Tigray:
“I need to return to the village I came from. In the past, I was self-sufficient & managed my life well. I am now facing significant challenges; we believe going back to our roots is the best solution.”
“Justice, for me, means receiving compensation and addressing the harm done to us. True justice will be achieved when those responsible for the atrocities are held accountable”

📌 I just confirmed that my friend @cherinet_ is detained at the headquarters of #Erhiopia federal police in Mexico Square, yesterday. (Please RT)
The reason for his detainment is unclear. Cherinet is in #Ethiopia to be part of an AU youth summit.
A young peace & refugees advocate, Cherinet Alem Hariffo is a strong voice to all vulnerable victims. He is known to be understanding of #Ethiopian government and its officials much more than many of us who are their critics. His detainment is unjustified.
We call upon all officials and notable leaders, who Cherinet has met and discussed many issues with to be calling for his release.

A question of just a bad legacy or accountability for a criminal complicity in covering up a genocide in #Tigray for the former @EthioHRC Chief Commissioner Daniel Bekele?⬇️

Congratulations & thanks to @NewlinesInst for meticulously investigating the war on #Tigray. The conclusion that #genocide was perpetrated against Tigrayans by forces from #Ethiopia, #Eritrea, & #Amhara is accurate & timely. We still demand accountability. https://t.co/cND6fdCcdj
