Lord, we remember those who lost their lives for their faith. Comfort those left behind.
Bring justice, and where there is hatred, bring transformation.
May Your Church stand with the persecuted, holding hope that death does not have the final word.
Amen. 🙏
🚨 101 YEARS OLD CHURCH BURNED TO THE GROUND.
Islamists torched the Telata Chef St. Gabriel Church in Ethiopia.
Dozens of Christians murdered alongside it.
No breaking news banners.
No global outrage.
No candlelight vigils.
Because the victims were Christian.
RT and follow if this enrages you.
The Patriarch should call for an independent international inquiry, because the regime itself stands of complicity in these atrocities. For years, the so-called Oromo Region has become an open killing field for Amharas and Orthodox Christians, particularly since Abiy Ahmed came to power. The state institutions have enabled, armed, & failed to stop those responsible for attacks we demand serious international investigation. @USEmbassyAddis@HouseForeignGOP@SecRubio@hrw
Que alguien se lo diga al Papa:
Etiopía. La iglesia Telata Chef St. Gabriel, de 101 años de antigüedad quemada por los islamistas pero sharía
Además de quemar la iglesia, asesinaron a decenas de cristianos inocentes.
The historic 101-year-old St. Gabriel Church in Telata Chef, Ethiopia, was burned to the ground by Islamists.
Dozens of innocent Christians were murdered.
Woke Pope, leftists & media stay silent.
Pray for Christians worldwide?
A. Yes 🙏
B. No
the sheikh is tearing the crosses worn by Orthodox Christian followers from their necks. We are witnessing that there is no freedom of religion in the Oromia region of Ethiopia
CRISTÃOS MASSACRADOS NA ETIÓPIA
📍🇪🇹
The attack on Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia is systemic. While ethno-nationalist & Muslim extremists massacre & kill Christians simply bs of their faith, the gov't on the other hand, tortures & imprisons church fathers & scholars for speaking out against these injustices.
Nationwide crackdown on EOTC teachers by regime forces. Dr. Magabi Hadis Mezgebu Kassa, Deacon Zelalem Taye, Getnet Aytenew, Merigeta Betremariam Ababaw, and Zemene Habtu have reportedly been arrested after criticizing civilian killings, church destruction, and government actions
The Abiy Regime’s Arbitrary Arrest of Orthodox Deacon Zelalem Taye and Its Systematic Assault on the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Demand Immediate International Accountability!
Security forces of the Abiy Ahmed regime have arbitrarily arrested Deacon Zelalem Taye, a respected deacon and powerful preacher of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. He was taken without charges, without evidence, and without any semblance of due process - simply for serving his faith and his people.
This is not an isolated act of repression. It is part of a deliberate, state-sponsored campaign of destruction and persecution targeting the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and its faithful. Across regions, churches have been attacked, clergy harassed and detained, and believers subjected to intimidation and violence. What is unfolding is a calculated effort to weaken and dismantle one of Ethiopia’s oldest and most sacred institutions.
These actions constitute crimes against humanity. They represent a flagrant violation of fundamental human rights - including freedom of religion and belief - protected under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and every standard of civilized conduct.
We urgently call on the international community to act:
1• The United Nations, its Human Rights Council, and the Secretary-General must immediately condemn this arrest, demand Deacon Zelalem Taye’s unconditional release, and launch an independent investigation into the broader pattern of attacks on the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and its members.
2• The United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and other democratic governments must impose targeted sanctions - including Magnitsky-style measures - on Ethiopian officials and security personnel responsible for these abuses.
3• The African Union must fulfill its continental mandate by publicly condemning the persecution of religious institutions and pressing the Abiy regime to cease its campaign of repression.
4• All international donors, financial institutions, and development partners must review and condition assistance to Ethiopia on verifiable protections for religious freedom, the rule of law, and the immediate release of arbitrarily detained clergy and faithful.
5• Global civil society, faith leaders, human rights organizations, and people of conscience everywhere must amplify this call and refuse to remain silent while an ancient Christian community is systematically targeted.
Deacon Zelalem Taye’s only “crime” appears to be his unwavering commitment to his faith and his willingness to speak against the killing of Christians. Silencing such voices will not bring peace - it will only deepen Ethiopia’s suffering and isolation.
The world has witnessed enough atrocities justified by silence and indifference. History will judge those who act - and those who look away.
We appeal to your conscience, your commitment to human dignity, and your responsibility to prevent further crimes against humanity.

@EmnetuGebrehiot@DanielsonKassa1 The Amhara and Oromo regions are war zones. The biggest regions. Journalists are jailed in record numbers. Sitting parliament memebers are also jailed. What election are you talking about?
