your brain will never believe you are capable of doing hard and great things until you repeatedly do hard things and survive the hard outcomes. this is how you train your brain and how neuroplasticity works.
you have to be irrationally optimistic about the future because all the rules you have been taught your whole life were set by people who can't open a pdf file on their own without someone else's help. forget about all the rules given pre 2000s except those about human nature
La Rochefoucauld wrote in 1665 that we underestimate our abilities not because we are humble, but because we don't want the burden of actualizing our potential. Better to think "that's beyond me" instead of "I betrayed my gifts." Ouch
