Remember when China offered to “supply” Italy with ventilators? Well apparently sources say that China is actually *selling* the ventilators + masks, but donating the other leftover other PEPs. sneaky language. Lesson is don’t fully believe CCP propaganda rhetoric. #COVID19
We are eight weeks into this #COVID19 outbreak: yet we have identified the virus, we have the genetic sequence, PCR & serological assay in use. This wealth of knowledge is unprecedented for a new disease.
#coronavirus
It’s appalling to see new reports of people being targeted due to their race, ethnicity or purported association with #COVID19. @WHO once again calls for an end to stigmatization & discrimination at a time when solidarity and compassion must be paramount.

@DrTedros@AfricaCDC "Meanwhile, the WHO-led joint mission in #China has been working in Beijing, Sichuan and Guangdong, and will travel to Wuhan tomorrow to continue its work at the epicenter of the outbreak"-@DrTedros#COVID19#coronavirus
"If I don't deliver the food, they will have nothing to live on." - Wuhan is under lockdown, but these are the everyday heroes that keep it going. #coronavirus#covid19
I missed this somehow - an even bigger prison outbreak of 207 cases including prison guards up in Shandong province (far from Hubei). That’s two prison epidemics suddenly! #SARSCoV2#COVID19
Great thread highlighting that scientists should focus on real virus epidemic, rather than policing/muffling/bullying the voices of others. I have family currently under lockdown in China, so we should think about the sick and the at risk. (Thanks to @jon_stokes of @arstechnica)
It seems CCP had stopped providing CT pneumonia #SARSCoV2 cases by cities as of Feb 15th. And by the 16th 🇨🇳 stopped showing the breakdown entirely in daily reports. Just fantastic. @WHO needs to step in and standardize the reporting ASAP.
This is sad to hear. Hopefully the 2 are the last deaths (Japanese couple in their 80s) from the tragic 💎 Princess cruise 🚢. But ~1/3 of the ship still has not been even lab tested yet. #covid19 https://t.co/XZWJ8XTn6m
@DrEricDing But the waiting takes days, even weeks. A tragedy happened several days ago said that a 70-year old man jumped off a building in #Wuhan to commit suicide because he did CT and was highly suspected that had the #ncovid19 before he could do the nucleic-acid test to confirm it.
Boy oh boy... Still trying to digest this. “14,840 new confirmed cases, almost 10 times reported a day earlier, and new deaths attributable to the contagion rose to 242, more than double on the day” We need to see #COVID19 trendline from new case method.🤔 https://t.co/Mpog813tb5
@DrEricDing I think that's probably why the Chinese authority changed the standard to calculate the number of infected in Hubei area. This matter may relates to the decision. The nucleic-acid test is hard to get and needs time, that's all.
@DrEricDing But he didn't do dialysis in the waiting period so his condition got worse. He said he didn't want his family take him as a life burden. Left with no chance, he killed himself. It is very sad!!!!
