@DrElleMorris@nursing_nat Interesting - clinical https://t.co/dZTVgKPYKs (an evidence-based nursing resource many universities and trusts use) advises against aspirating at the deltoid site as there is no risk of striking a blood vessel. This is also what is taught at uni’s.
@British_Airways My partner and I are still waiting for double tier points to be awarded for our BA holiday (flights + 6 nights accommodation) in January. Your T&C’s state these will be awarded after 14 days. It has been longer than 14 days now since we returned. Please help!
@British_Airways recently took a BA holiday (flights+6 hotel nights) in good faith to qualify for double tier point promotion. Been back over 14 days now and still no sign of points!! Come on, honour your promotions! Who can help?
@StN_Freda I have my consolidation placement coming up. It will only be for 4 weeks because that will take me to 2300 hours. It will be my 8 placement. We are not expected to continue once we have achieved our NMC hours.
@ruth_rawson@PeggyJaneMurre2 All this!! ⬆️ I’m soon to qualify, nearly 50, and have found the whole mature student experience frustrating. People seem to overlook the wealth of life experience and work experience mature students can offer!
@nursingPUNC18@WeNurses@kingsfund@PUNC14 Ward management is key. Any supervisory role (sister, charge, matron) should undertake thorough and ongoing leadership training. It’s demotivating to see poor leadership and this has a direct impact on soon-to-qualify students desire to work on wards/in hospitals
@ruth_rawson Congratulations @ruth_rawson, I’ve followed your journey being another late starter (mature student !) and you’ve been an inspiration. Got my lit r/w approaching, chosen EOL care. Did you find searching for literature straightforward?
@AHemingwayRNPhD I am just finishing a community placement. I have loved every minute; being trusted to work more autonomously; develop key skills and confidence; working alongside HCP who are keen to support my learning. Being treated as a nurse in training not an extra pair of hands
@tara_elise28 I’m with the DN’s right now and loving it. So much to learn and so autonomous. Totally different pace to the wards. Get ready to master taking a manual BP!!! (Practice before if you can)
@christienursing @StNurseProject @RCNStudents@WeStudentNurse I use Notability on iPad - download PowerPoint presentations and any other resources and annotate with Apple Pencil
@kmrowland86 @StNurseProject Also, use the reference lists of articles you find, particularly systematic reviews, because they can lead you to the primary research papers. Good luck!
@PUNC18_Lee I feel training is the wrong word to use. I have experience more ‘facilitated learning’ which I don’t believe is appropriate for some of the content nursing students have to understand. I have found on more than one occasion I have had to teach myself complex info via YouTube!
