As a writing teacher, my main concern about ChatGPT (and similar) is that using it can be a way to avoid practice. It's writing activity that leads to learning. If a robot does the work, it learns, but you don't. More about missing practice: https://t.co/fHKJeFqdGw
@iAWriter Ah the voices of reason are finally entering the conversation “It took years to write this article. It took days of thinking, writing, and rewriting it until it was thought clearly enough. You can let Artificial Intelligence speak for you, but it can’t feel and think for you.”
@derekbruff I know this won’t help you tomorrow but I’ve been using @iAPresenter for nearly a year (in beta) and I think it’s designed for how rhet/comp people, those who work with words. It would fit you needs here perfectly. Maybe next time. At least check it out for your toolbox.
@phoutz Nice list. I appreciate the Why you Want this annotation. You might consider adding @jessegrosjean’s Bike outliner to your list. It’s new and noteworthy. I’ve been using it daily since May as a first (and sometimes only) workspace
@jessegrosjean meant to say Bike is not an aircraft carrier and that is what I like most about the app. Smooth and elegant. And it does a good job of helping to avoid the spell check pitfalls such as occurred with me here on Twitter.
By far the best and smoothest app I added to my workflow this year. Like Jesse says: a bike bit an aircraft carrier. What I say: just a pleasant space in which to write
Kenji was my first Instructional Design collaborator @SFSU and inspired me to greater heights. Please send my regards and thanks if in any of your non-Twitter networks (wondering where I’ll go next).
@10ch @vnoel @webb @ctietze ok @10ch this works but 1 question: knowing that you have kept so many notes in Tinderbox @eastgate where do you archive those notes since they don't fit into the file structure I see here? I also have have extensive notes in both Tbx and plain text (@nvUltraApp).
Check out new work from @jessieborgman & @crmcardle in @CompCompTweets Continuous delivery: A PARS online course development cycle https://t.co/Mse85zk77Z @msuwrac@CALMSU
@iAPresenter I’m also a working professor on the Beta and using iA Presenter (while reporting a bug here and there) has changed the way I think about slides and handouts. And I’ve cut my preparation time in half.
Beta release day! hooray!! We are super excited about this new feature that will group students for you AND let you set flexible deadlines. Set it and forget it review groups!
