We are excited to share our work on genome-scale functional characterization of candidate cis-regulatory elements (cCREs) in iPSCs and during neuronal differentiation, funded by @ENCODE_NIH and @4DNucleome https://t.co/RTm5MH28mi 1/11
Join us TOMORROW at 10:00 in F4.118 for grad student Daniel Armendariz's dissertation defense: "CHD-Associated Enhancers Shape Human Cardiomyocyte Lineage Commitment" @hon_lab@GDDgradprogUTSW
We are #recruiting#MedicalInformatics#Faculty to fill a joint appointment with @CIC_UTSW.
Focus - innovation of computational approaches to address pressing problems in disease prevention, recognition, and management, and/or public health.
Apply today! https://t.co/aPktQ5GBZO
Excited to share our work using scRNA-seq to investigate atopic dermatitis #TheOtherAD. Great collaboration with the Drechsler lab. 🐶https://t.co/RVRxVxElis
https://t.co/5kz6erU8s0 is recruiting 2 PostDocs (https://t.co/3KpZlUJaJT. https://t.co/FavbcrgfBL). Apply by Oct 10, 22. We are part of #IGVF, analyze reg. variant effects (MPRAs/CRISPR screens) and develop new comp. models & tools w/ @JShendure, @NadavAhituv, @malte_spielmann.
Thanks, Sam. This study establishes proof-of-concept for a cardiomyopathy diagnostic algorithm using chromatin accessibility signatures at a sequencing depth achievable by benchtop instruments. Code : https://t.co/U3OfTJX6t9
Very excited to share my post- doctoral publication in @CircAHA co-first authored by an extremely talented #computationalbiologist jialeiduan. This was the product of after-work hours, cross country collaboration, and effective communication. https://t.co/of4D3ZWyzS
Bing Ren lab 20th anniversary - a fun and memorable event in sunny SD! Organizing this with @hon_lab, @hawkins_lab, Allen Wang, and Lauren Thomas is a great honor. We had many excellent talks, activities, and even a rainbow during dinner! Thank you all for joining us!
In summary, we used single-cell screens to functionally characterize enhancers in a model of human development. How do enhancers contribute to cell fate specification and diseases of human development like CHD? We are excited to learn more in the IGVF Consortium. (8/8)
We are excited to share our preprint on how “CHD-associated enhancers shape cardiomyocyte lineage commitment.” Awesome collaboration with Nik Munshi’s lab at UTSW. A tweetorial follows. (1/8) @GDDgradprogUTSW@CRSM_UTSW@DannyArmen

Finally, we generated genetic knockouts for two TBX5 enhancers. Enhancer deletion analysis mirrors that of CRISPRi, with knockout cells showing a marked reduction of mature CMs states. (7/8)
Awesome way to end the year! Jeremiah Herbert delivered an incredibly clear and compelling thesis defense today. Very proud to be his mentor and extremely excited for his next big step! @UTSWGradSchool
We are delighted to share the latest results from the lab as we explore complex engineering. A massive collaborative effort more than 2 years in the making. Progress was slowed by the pandemic, but we remained determined. Thanks to the lab for this huge accomplishment!
We have a postdoc position available in the lab. Come join us to investigate how biomolecular condensates regulate gene activity in normal and disease cell states. Please RT.
