@rja_carnegie@girdley He’s a simple man that communicates directly. I found it funnier when he specifically listed his ability to spell, then spelled sporadically wrong. At least he was honest that he’s only decent with punctuation.
@mhp_guy Not many people have the patience to play monopoly to the end. I wanted to, but nobody would join me. I found an app, played the full game. The secret to winning? Mortgage the properties you can’t build on, f* the rent. Build on the few groups you have to max the rent. Win!
I’ve hired a lot of 20somethings and I’ve never had an experience with any of their parents, other than meeting them at an event or when they come have lunch with their kid. I’m sure it happens, but either I’ve dodged raindrops here or the stats are inflated.
@SMB_Attorney Love hearing politicians talk down about people who have accumulated wealth like they don’t deserve it. Especially rich from someone who was a bartender a few years ago, has done nothing historic in terms of enriching Americans’ lives, yet has amassed a small fortune herself.
Maybe I’m a Dallas homer but I’m going to need someone to explain to me why Kon is having a more ROY season than Hoop-Coop. Make it make sense, please.
@TheSageHitman33 I’ve got no reason to disagree with your take, but it is interesting that the best stats PFF can provide are grades against the run…for a CB.
@MrNQDC People pay off a house then cancel the insurance, house burns down months later. 30 yrs of payments, gone for a $1500/yr home policy premium. I’ve seen people carry minimum limits, then have an accident with their friend’s kid in the car. Big medical bills, no coverage. Awkward.
Insurance: nobody wants an insurance payment, but nobody I know went broke because of their insurance payment.

The biggest threat to your family’s financial future isn’t your portfolio.
It’s underinsurance
And it’s not just life insurance
You’re far more likely to become disabled and lose your income than die
Yet even the smartest DIY investors I know are underinsured on:
↳ Life
↳ Disability
↳ Auto
↳ Homeowners
↳ Umbrella liability
Investment and tax optimization won’t save a family without protection
Boring? Yes
Critical? Absolutely
@MrNQDC Because it is intangible until it is truly vital. Nobody shows off their new insurance policy like they show off their new car, purse, watch, house, etc. People generally think, “something catastrophic won’t happen to me” and that’s good for their sanity. But “it” happens.
Insurance taught me about exposure to risk—and that lesson applies far beyond insurance. We avoid things because they feel risky, so we miss real opportunities. “Luck” isn’t random; it’s usually earned through exposure others avoid. What “risks” are you avoiding?
