btw in your 20's and 30’s you’ll start rediscovering the niche interests and hobbies you had as a kid. it’s very important you revisit them. your younger self was actually on to something.
does anyone else with adhd get executive dysfunction with their own hobbies... like why am i so stressed out over playing minecraft and drawing and watching videos haha i literally WANT to do it but it feels like i cant
Not even an exaggeration when I say that all sanitation workers should be paid an insane amount of money. The risks they take to keep our cities free from filth and disease??
Undiagnosed or unmedicated/unmanaged ADHD is saying "Tomorrow will be the day I'll finally get up, do the stuff that needs to be done, and start living my life to its fullest" and you unironically believe it every time until you look up one day and realise you are 30
Instead of saying "Women slept their way to the top", we should say "Men withhold promotions until they receive sexual favors". Because that is what it really is.
Also: if women could sleep their way to the top, there would be more women in power at the top.
We're unhappy because we're taught at a very young age that we be should cold, cruel, reductionist, stoic and rational. We've been taught that only women are supposed to love deeply. The modern world has separated man from his sensitive core and twisted masculinity
I saw a TikTok about a girl saying how she doesn't stay mad for long because either she's going to figure it out, or there's nothing that can be done about it. and as simple as that sounds is as simple as it is really.
it’s actually terrifying how much my brain has changed since i stopped being a bookworm. it’s not just about the attention span, though that’s definitely gone
i can’t even sit still for ten minutes without reaching for a distraction.
but the bigger shift is how it feels like my inner world has gone grey. i’m not nearly as creative as i used to be and that quiet, calm headspace i used to have is just gone. i feel like i’ve lost my vocabulary and my ability to articulate how i actually feel, so everything i say feels surface level and repetitive.
even my curiosity feels stunted. i used to wonder about things for hours, but now if i don’t get an immediate answer, i just lose interest. it’s like i traded my imagination for a shorter fuse and a total lack of focus. my personality used to have so much more color and depth, and now it feels like i'm just reacting to things instead of actually thinking. i'm just trying to remember how to be that person again.
