One of the most important shifts in global health today is the growing recognition that innovation does not end with invention.
Governance, financing, and collaboration are not supporting roles. They are part of what determines whether innovation becomes impact for people and communities.
This is the focus of the Future of Health Conference 2026. Moving from innovation as an idea to innovation as impact.

A strong step in the right direction. Vaccines sit at the center of global health security; not just as tools of response, but as instruments of prevention.
Investing in vaccine development, manufacturing capacity, and stronger partnerships ensures world is not reacting late, but responding early enough to contain outbreaks at source.

The COVID-19 pandemic tested the resilience of health systems across the world.
In Nigeria, responding to the crisis required more than emergency action. It demanded investments that would protect essential health services, strengthen health security, and build capacity for future public health emergencies.

The 6th Africa Digital Health Summit (ADHS 2026) convened policymakers, healthcare leaders, researchers, innovators, development partners, and media professionals from across Africa to explore how digital innovations can move from pilot projects to scalable, sustainable health solutions. Discussions focused on artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, health financing, policy frameworks, and maternal health innovations, highlighting the critical role of technology in strengthening health systems across the continent.
A key highlight for Nigeria Health Watch was the scientific abstract presentation delivered by our Programme Manager, Habibat Lawal, titled "Scaling Digital Social Listening: Leveraging Social Media Monitoring to Strengthen Vaccine Communication in Nigeria." The presentation showcased how digital social listening approaches were used to monitor public conversations, identify misinformation, understand community concerns, and address knowledge gaps during integrated vaccination campaigns in Nigeria. The session demonstrated the value of real-time digital intelligence and social listening as essential tools for strengthening risk communication, improving vaccine confidence, and supporting evidence-based public health decision-making.
